Thanksgiving is a time for reflecting on what we are thankful for and we at Complete Home Services just wanted to take a moment to say that we are thankful for each and every one of our clients for allowing us to serve you this past year as well as many more years to come. May your Thanksgiving be filled with family, love, and wonderful memories.
Speaking of wonderful memories some of the fondest Thanksgiving memories are just of family and friends sitting around the table sharing food, laughter and stories. Here is an easy and tasty apple pie recipe that you can share this Thanksgiving and create lasting memories for years to come:
2 refrigerated pie crusts
2/3 cup sugar + 1Tbsp
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 1/4 cups water
3 cups diced apples
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon apple pie spice
1 egg beaten
Press 1 pie crust into an ungreased pie plate. In a large pan combine 2/3 cup sugar, cornstarch, and water until smooth; bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 1 minute or until thickened. Remove from the heat; stir in apples, vanilla, and apple pie spice. Pour into crust; top with second crust. Trim edges; brush top of pie with beaten egg and sprinkle with the remaining 1Tbsp sugar. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
*Remember* Don’t forget to visit Mercier Orchards for your own fresh picked apples.
